Grok Bot + Sightkick: SEO and GEO work for your Bots

Updated

Grok Bot can run your SEO and GEO work in Sightkick from its own cloud computer: AI visibility, Search Console, keyword research and outreach, as routines that keep going while your laptop is closed. Ask a Bot to add Sightkick's MCP server by its address, then sign in to Sightkick in your browser. No API key.

Disclosure: this page is made by Sightkick, about connecting Sightkick to Grok Bot. Grok Bot is a product of SpaceXSI, and Sightkick has no partnership with it.

Key takeaways

  • Grok Bot adds Sightkick in the chat: ask a Bot to add the MCP server at https://app.sightkick.so/mcp, then sign in when it asks.
  • Bots work on a cloud computer that stays on, so Sightkick reports and checks can run as routines.
  • Sightkick never asks for a confirm, so the gate is Grok Bot's Auto Review: add Ask first rules for publishing and sending.
  • Sightkick tracks ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, not Grok.

How do I connect Grok Bot to Sightkick?

Ask a Bot to add Sightkick's MCP server and paste the endpoint, https://app.sightkick.so/mcp. Then sign in to Sightkick when Grok Bot asks, and pick the workspace for your site. Grok Bot has no settings form for servers outside its catalog, so you do it in the chat (Cursor support, August 2026).

  1. Ask Grok Bot to add a custom MCP server named Sightkick, and paste the endpoint.
  2. Sign in to Sightkick when Grok Bot asks: sign in in your browser and pick the workspace for your site.
  3. Ask the Bot to call get_workspace, so you see the connection works.
Add this MCP server: https://app.sightkick.so/mcp. Name it Sightkick.

Sightkick's server is public and runs over streamable HTTP, so the Bot's cloud computer reaches it without a tunnel. The same steps are in Sightkick's MCP setup for Grok Bot. Then ask the Bot to check:

Call Sightkick's get_workspace. Which workspace are you in, what's left on the plan this month, and what setup is missing?

get_workspace returns the workspace, the plan's amounts and what's left, each of Sightkick's jobs, what setup still lacks and what's new since the Bot's last session.

No Sightkick account yet? Grok Bot has a terminal, so it can follow sightkick.so/llms.txt: it sends Sightkick your site, brand, competitors and buyer questions, and gives you a sign-up link. Or start with the free AI visibility report, no card.

What is Grok Bot?

Grok Bot is an AI teammate from SpaceXSI (SpaceX Super Intelligence), the company behind Grok at x.ai. It launched in beta on August 11, 2026 (x.ai). Each Bot works on a persistent cloud computer with a browser, a filesystem and a terminal, shared by all your Bots, and keeps working when your laptop is closed (Grok Bot docs).

You reach your Bots from the desktop app on macOS, Windows and Linux, and from the iPhone and Android apps. Bots run in parallel and run routines on a schedule. Grok Bot uses your Cursor account (Grok Bot docs) and supports the same MCP servers, plugins and skills as Cursor (Grok Bot 101).

Grok Bot is not Grok, the chat assistant at grok.com. Grok adds custom MCP connectors from its own connectors page (Grok docs), and this page covers Grok Bot only.

What can Grok Bot do with Sightkick?

Grok Bot can watch Search Console, track the rivals AI answers name, build a pitch list and check a search before you write for it. Each job below uses what sets Grok Bot apart: a computer that stays on, routines and a team of Bots.

The numbers under each prompt are our own, from sightkick.so, Sightkick's own site. Method: the sightkick.so workspace in Sightkick, read on 4 November 2026. Search Console over 28 days; AI answers from the tracked prompts asked daily in ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode over 14 days.

A Monday routine for Search Console

Every Monday at 8:00 AM, call Sightkick's get_search_console metrics for the last 28 days against the 28 days before. Post clicks, impressions, average position and the top page by impressions.

On sightkick.so: 14 clicks, 5,544 impressions and an average position of 29.0, against 5 clicks, 3,805 impressions and position 53.0 in the 28 days before. Top page by impressions: /blog/am-i-on-ai, 1,472 impressions, 8 clicks, position 9.3. A new routine waits for its first scheduled time, so use Test to see a run now (Grok Bot docs).

Watch the rivals AI answers name

Use Sightkick's get_visibility summary for the last 14 days. Which competitors do AI answers name most for our prompts? Flag any that jumped.

In Sightkick's own tracking of sightkick.so (14 days to 4 November 2026), AI answers named Profound 2,043 times, Peec AI 1,988, Otterly 1,875, Scrunch AI 766, Rankscale AI 517, Promptwatch 243, Semrush 152 and SE Ranking 54. These are counts of our tracked answers, not claims about the rivals' products. Sightkick itself was named in 23 of 5,960 unbranded answers. That gap is the brief for a second Bot.

Build a pitch list from what AI cites

Use Sightkick's get_visibility sources: which page types and pages do AI answers cite most for our prompts? Then pull get_outreach prospects for the listicles, and prepare pitches. Don't send anything.

On sightkick.so: listicles drew 1,292 citations, second only to product pages. zapier.com was cited 535 times, and one list there, “9 best AI visibility tools”, 334 times on its own. That list is a pitch target. Pitches go out from your own sending inbox once the plan starts, and sending is marked destructive.

Check the results page before writing

Use Sightkick's research_keywords and check_web serp for "google search console mcp" in the US. Who ranks, what does the AI Overview name, and is it worth a page?

On sightkick.so: 480 searches a month and rising, from 110 a year ago to 1,000 last month, difficulty 17. Google shows a LinkedIn how-to post, ekamoira.com/tools/gsc and mcpmarket.com listings. The AI Overview names Composio, SEOcrawl AI and Advanced GSC as hosted ways in. A related seed, “seo mcp”, has 90 searches a month and is rising.

From there, one Bot can draft the page in Sightkick, score it against the four pillars and hand it to you as a draft. A page the Bot writes runs on your own Grok Bot plan, not on Sightkick's article allowance.

How does Grok Bot compare with other agents on Sightkick?

Grok Bot is the one that adds Sightkick in the chat and runs on its own cloud computer. The terminal agents add it with a command and run unattended on an API key.

Is it safe?

Yes, with two layers: Grok Bot's approvals decide when the Bot stops to ask, and Sightkick's limits decide what any agent can reach. Add Ask first rules for publishing and sending, and the Bot can't do either without you.

On the Grok Bot side

  • Every Bot gets Sightkick. Connected apps are account-wide, so every Bot you run can use the Sightkick connection (Grok Bot docs).
  • The Bot never holds the token. OAuth tokens sit on Cursor's connector backend, and the Bot calls tools without receiving them.
  • Auto Review checks each action. It is on by default and runs before the Bot uses a connected app. Add Ask first rules for the Sightkick actions that matter, like “Ask first before publishing or taking down a page in Sightkick” and “Ask first before sending outreach email through Sightkick”. Ask first rules always stop for you, and win over Allow rules (Grok Bot docs).
  • Background cards expire. An approval card raised by a routine expires after about 30 minutes, and the action doesn't run. Turn on notifications for Bots that run Sightkick routines (Grok Bot docs).
  • Approvals don't undo. An approval controls the proposed action. It doesn't reverse work already done.

On the Sightkick side

  • One site per grant. The sign-in binds Grok Bot to the workspace you pick. It can't read or touch another site.
  • Attributed. Sightkick's activity feed logs every call under the client that made it, so a Bot's work shows up by name.
  • What stays yours. Signing in, entering the first card, ending a trial early and deciding who gets access. Everything else you can do in the app, the Bot can do.
  • No confirm from Sightkick. Sightkick doesn't ask, so the gate is Auto Review. Deleting something, taking a page down and sending an email are marked destructive, and every agent edit to a live page is kept and can be undone.
  • Drafts only, if you want. Set Sightkick's jobs to Manual and tell the Bot to create pages without a day. They wait in Unscheduled until you place them.

FAQ

What does it cost?

Sightkick Standard is $39 a month ($31 billed yearly), and your agent writes the pages. Pro is $99 a month ($79 billed yearly) and adds 30 articles a month written and published by Sightkick. Either one starts with a 7-day free trial: a card up front, no charge for 7 days. Grok Bot comes with its own plan.

Do I need an API key?

No. Grok Bot connects over OAuth, and you finish the sign-in in your browser. A key is only for setups where nobody can open a browser.

Will Grok Bot publish without asking?

Not if you set the gate in Grok Bot: an Ask first rule for publishing makes every publish wait for your approval. Sightkick won't stop it on its own. Pages the Bot creates without a day never go live by themselves.

Can it run on a schedule?

Yes. Grok Bot routines run on a schedule, at least five minutes apart, on the Bot's cloud computer. Each run spends Grok Bot usage, and an hourly schedule can use a week of it in a day. Sightkick asks your prompts once a day and syncs Search Console daily, so a daily or weekly routine covers most reports.

Do all my Bots get access?

Yes. Apps in Grok Bot are account-wide, so the Sightkick connection works for every Bot you run. Your Auto Review rules are saved to your account too, so an Ask first rule for publishing covers every Bot.

Does Sightkick track what Grok says about my brand?

No. Sightkick tracks ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode: 3 included, the 4th as an add-on.

Is “grokbot” the same thing?

Yes. Its maker writes Grok Bot, two words, and calls each agent a Bot.

Troubleshooting

Why does Sightkick show Added, but the Bot can't use it?

Added means installed, not signed in. Open Connect apps, find Sightkick and choose Authenticate if it shows Needs auth or Disconnected. Finish the sign-in in your browser, then ask the Bot to try again.

Why does the connector show Error?

Grok Bot shows Error when a server refuses registration (Grok Bot changelog). Sightkick registers clients through OAuth 2.1 dynamic client registration. Remove the connector and ask the Bot to add it again. If the error stays, write to hello@sightkick.so.

Why does every tool say the connection isn't tied to a Sightkick workspace?

The sign-in finished before the workspace existed. Finish setup at app.sightkick.so/start (sign in, confirm the site, start the trial or the plan). Then remove the server and add it back.

Why did a routine stop calling Sightkick?

When a connector signs you out, Grok Bot's background work stops calling it and tells you to reconnect. Reconnect Sightkick in Connect apps and test the routine.

Can I use a key instead?

Yes. In Sightkick, Settings → Agents, then New key. Read is always on. Untick write, spend, publish or send for anything the Bot shouldn't do. Give it to the Bot in the secure secret card it shows, never in plain chat. With a key, the CLI (npx -y sightkick) and the HTTP API run the same tools.
