Sightkick + WordPress: Publish Pages and Fix SEO Titles
Updated
Sightkick publishes to WordPress through its free plugin on WordPress.org (version 1.3.0, updated 2026-11-01). Install it, paste its token into Sightkick, and every scheduled page goes live on its day, including integration and comparison pages in their own folders. Since 1.2.0 it can also rewrite SEO titles on pages it didn't write, one undoable change at a time.
Sightkick makes this page and the plugin it describes. Every fact below is dated.
Key takeaways
The plugin is free, needs WordPress 6.5 and PHP 7.4 or later, and connects in five steps.
Pages go live as native block posts, with images in your media library and SEO fields in your SEO plugin.
Since 1.2.0 it rewrites only the SEO title and meta description of your other pages, measured on Search Console clicks and undone if it loses.
It never edits your text, never deletes a post and never calls out from your site.
Your own AI agent can run all of it through the MCP server.

What does the Sightkick WordPress plugin do?
The Sightkick plugin is the WordPress end of a push connection. The platform calls the plugin's own authenticated endpoint on the WordPress REST API (/wp-json/sightkick/v1/) to create, update and retire pages, and the plugin never contacts sightkick.so on its own. What it does on your site:
Native block posts. Headings, lists, tables, quotes and images arrive as real Gutenberg blocks you can edit.
Pages in their own folders. Comparison, alternatives, integration and use-case pages go to
/vs/,/alternatives/,/integrations/and/use-cases/by default, each a post type with an archive page at its folder. Since 1.3.0 you rename or move these folders and add folders of your own, such as Guides at/guides/.Images in your media library. Every image is downloaded and given its alt text, and the featured image is set. Nothing is hot-linked.
SEO fields in your SEO plugin. The SEO title, meta description, focus keyphrase and social image go into Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress or The SEO Framework. With none active, the plugin prints the title, description, Open Graph tags and structured data itself.
IndexNow. The plugin serves your key file for IndexNow, the protocol Bing and other search engines use to hear about new and updated URLs, so there is no file to upload.
It suits any WordPress site where you can install plugins and want pages written by the platform, or by your own AI agent, to go live without copy and paste.
How do you connect WordPress to Sightkick?
Connecting WordPress to Sightkick takes five steps and about two minutes: install the plugin, copy its token, paste it in, pick a default author and category, and test.
Install the plugin. In the WordPress admin, open Plugins → Add New, search "Sightkick", then Install and Activate. With WP-CLI's plugin install command:
wp plugin install sightkick --activateCopy the token. Open Settings → Sightkick in WordPress and copy the token it shows. With WP-CLI:
wp option get sightkick_token. Treat it as a password: anyone holding it can publish to the site.Paste it in. In the Sightkick app, open Settings → Publishing, choose WordPress, and paste the token and your site's address.
Pick the defaults. The platform reads the site and lists its authors and categories. Pick the author and category blog posts go out under. Skip it, and they go out as the site's first author in its default category.
Test. The connection test reads the plugin back. A pass means pages can go out.
A site has one publishing destination, so a second connection is refused until the first is removed. When a step fails, the error names the cause and the fix: a rejected token, a security plugin restricting the REST API, a firewall such as Cloudflare, Wordfence or Sucuri blocking /wp-json/, or a cache answering with HTML instead of JSON.
What happens when a page goes live on WordPress?
On a page's scheduled day, the platform sends it to the plugin, the plugin publishes it as a live post in its folder, and the live URL is checked. There is no WordPress draft step: a page is read before it gets a day, and every page on the schedule goes live exactly as written.
Where it lands. A blog post goes to your blog under the default author and category. A folder page goes to its folder with no categories or tags, so an integration page lives at
example.com/integrations/tool/.Structured data. With an SEO plugin active, that plugin's schema stays in charge and only FAQ and list schema are added on top. What schema does and doesn't do for AI answers is in schema markup for AI search.
The live check. About 30 seconds after publishing, the live page is fetched. A page that doesn't render gets a warning on its record.
Updates in place. When a page changes, the plugin updates the same post at the same URL. The slug stays.
Retiring. A retired page goes back to a WordPress draft. It is never deleted.
Folders you already use. If one of your own pages already lives at
/integrations/, it keeps that address, and integration pages use plain addresses until you pick another folder in Settings → Publishing.

How does Sightkick improve SEO titles on pages it didn't write?
With plugin 1.2.0 or later and Google Search Console connected, Sightkick finds your own posts and pages that get fewer clicks than their Google position should bring, writes a new SEO title and meta description, and measures the change on clicks. It changes those two fields only, and every change can be undone.
Which pages. From the weekly Search Console read of the top 300 pages by impressions: pages whose non-branded page-one searches got under 60% of the clicks their positions usually bring, on the site's own position-to-click curve.
What it writes. A title of 40–65 characters that keeps the main search's words and differs from today's, and a description of 110–160 characters that says what the page gives, with no claim the page doesn't make. Both are grounded on the live page.
How fast. At most two new proposals a week, three waiting at once, and one change going out a day, at 07:00 in the workspace's time zone.
Auto or Manual. The Auto improvements setting decides. Auto sends each change by itself. Manual leaves it under "Your other pages" with Send and Skip. During the free trial nothing is sent by itself.
Measured. Clicks from Search Console, 28 days before against 28 days after Google reads the page again, net of the site's trend. A change with too few clicks is read again at day 56. A change that loses clicks undoes itself.
Undoable. The plugin stores the old title and description before every change, and Undo puts back what it stored, one change at a time. If you edited either field since, your version stays and the change is marked as left alone.
Careful by default. Password-protected posts are never changed. A page changed or skipped rests 90 days. What gets set is plain text, never one of your SEO plugin's variables, and the plugin refuses a title over 120 characters or a description over 320 rather than cut it.

A title set this way shows as written on Yoast SEO and Rank Math. The SEO Framework can add the site name after it, depending on that plugin's own settings, so the title in search results may run longer than the one sent.
What doesn't the WordPress integration do?
The Sightkick plugin writes only to the posts it created, plus the SEO title and meta description of your other posts and pages when your settings allow it. Everything else on your site stays yours.
No edits to the rest of your pages. On a page the platform didn't write, the text, post title, URL, focus keyphrase and social fields are never touched. Body changes, links and new sections come to you or your agent as an Improvement with a ready brief.
No page-builder layouts. Pages are standard block posts. If your builder's theme templates control single posts, they render them as usual.
No tags. A tag archive per keyword would be a thin page, so none are created.
No deletions. Retiring makes a draft. Uninstalling leaves your posts, pages, media and the SEO values in your SEO plugin in place. Without an SEO plugin, the titles and descriptions the plugin printed go with it.
No outbound calls. Every request comes in from the platform, and the plugin only answers it.
Nothing an old version can't do. Folder pages need 1.1.0, SEO titles on other pages 1.2.0, your own folders 1.3.0. A page an older plugin can't place is refused with the update it needs.
How can your own AI agent run the WordPress integration?
Your own AI agent can connect the site, write and schedule pages, and approve or undo SEO title changes through Sightkick's MCP server, with every call recorded under its name in the workspace's activity. In Claude Code, add the server with:
claude mcp add --transport http sightkick https://app.sightkick.so/mcpCodex, ChatGPT, Claude and other clients are on the MCP server page. The calls for WordPress:
Connect.
get_settings(viewsites) shows whether the site is connected.update_connections(actionconnect_wordpress, withsiteUrlandtoken) connects it. Withcheck: trueit only lists the authors and categories. Actiontestconfirms the connection.Folders.
get_settings(viewdestinations) lists them, andupdate_connections(actiondestination) renames or moves one.Pages.

get_improvements(viewother_pages) lists each change with its before and after.update_improvementsapproves, skips or undoes one.update_jobsswitches Auto improvements between Auto and Manual.
An agent with no browser for the sign-in can use an API key from Settings → Agents with the CLI (npx -y sightkick) or the HTTP API. The step-by-step guide written for agents is at sightkick.so/connect/wordpress.md. For what an agent can take on beyond publishing, see SEO AI agents.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Sightkick plugin change my existing posts?
Only their SEO title and meta description, and only when your settings allow it. The text, post title, address and every other field of your existing posts and pages are never touched.
Does it work with Yoast SEO, Rank Math and All in One SEO?
Yes. The plugin detects the active SEO plugin and writes into its fields. The release test of plugin 1.2.0 on 2026-10-31 changed and undid SEO titles on WordPress 7.1.4 with Yoast SEO 28.8, Rank Math 1.0.280 and All in One SEO 5.0.4.
Is the plugin token a secret?
Yes. Anyone holding it can publish to your site. Regenerate it under Settings → Sightkick, which disconnects the site until you paste the new one.
What happens if I uninstall the plugin?
Its settings go, and your posts, pages and media stay. SEO titles and descriptions set in your SEO plugin stay too.
What does the WordPress integration cost?
The plugin is free. Sightkick costs $39 per month on Standard or $99 per month on Pro, as of 2026-11-04, each with a 7-day trial that needs a card. The WordPress connection and agent access come with both. Details are on the pricing page.
